There comes a moment in the journey of the soul when the outer mechanisms of life, the routine movements of thought and habit, fall silent for a time and something vastness begins to stir within. A deeper seeing awakens — not the rational vision of the surface mind but a more illumined awareness that perceives behind the veil of appearances, that listens to the secret rhythm in things.
In such moments of inner opening, I have often found myself drawn not outward into the chaos of the world, but upward and inward — toward the vast night lit with stars and deeper still to the unseen forces that move beneath our human destinies. Here, in this sacred encounter, Jyotisha — the divine science of astrology — emerges as a symbolic language of the eternal.
The ancient Rishis, those master explorers of consciousness, did not speak of the stars as lifeless bodies of gas and flame. They saw them as powers, Devas, expressions of a vast cosmic Intelligence — a luminous order, an inherent Dharma moving through the heavens. The Nakshatras are not inert portions of space, but conscious stations of energy — gates through which the forces of the cosmos enter into Time.
To engage with Vedic astrology is not to bind oneself to mechanistic fate. On the contrary, it is to begin a dialogue with the Infinite — to recognise the interweaving of the cosmic Shakti with the soul’s evolutionary purpose. Each planetary movement, each stellar alignment, is like a note in the symphony of Becoming.
But we must not stop at symbol or prediction. To truly comprehend is to see with the eye of Yoga. The Nakshatra is not merely a trait of temperament; it is a key to our inner swabhava, the nature-force which the soul has taken up for this particular spiral of its ascent. Bharani speaks of Yama — of law, transformation and the power that governs transition. Ashwini whispers of the swift healing Light. Each name is a gesture of the Spirit, a signature of the Divine’s many faces.
And yet, human is not a victim of his chart. He is not a prisoner to the nodes and lines of a horoscope. The soul’s destiny is not written in stone — it is written in Light. And if we rise, if we purify the instruments of our nature, if we open ourselves to the Supramental Truth, we become no longer the object but the conscious participant in the vastness of the universe.
I have found profound precision in the vedic astrology— an attempt, perhaps, to distill from the ancient flow a more direct and empirical articulation. The real building is the soul’s progressive divinisation, its movement from ignorance to Truth, from ego to the Infinite.
The Lagna, the Sun, the Moon — these are not simply points of calculation. They are, when seen through the eye of Yoga, doorways into self-knowledge. The Lagna speaks of the formed personality; the Sun, of the Divine Presence behind the action; the Moon, of the soul’s evolving response to the universal forces. But beyond all of them is the Spirit — vast, eternal, unconditioned.
The supramental truth is this: the stars may describe a pattern of energy, but the Will of the Divine in the soul can always transcend. Let astrology, then, be not a chain but a window. Let it help us align with the rhythms of Dharma, so that the soul may ascend not blindly, but with luminous awareness — through Time, into the timeless.
For the goal is not prediction, but transformation.
Not submission, but ascent.
Not fate, but the flowering of the Spirit into its own divine fullness.
